Dubai is preparing for the winter travel season as international airlines review and adjust flight schedules, with European and Asian connections remaining a key focus ahead of the year-end holiday rush.
The latest developments offer fresh options for travellers planning trips to and from the United Arab Emirates, although some previously announced services have been delayed as airlines respond to the regional situation.
Lufthansa Group has postponed its planned resumption of flights to Dubai until November 25, according to its latest official update. The revised schedule affects services operated by Lufthansa and SWISS that had been expected to return in October. Austrian Airlines is still planning to launch flights between Vienna and Dubai from December 12, while Eurowings will not operate its previously planned Cologne-Bonn and Stuttgart–Dubai services during the winter schedule.
Despite the changes, the group expects to offer up to 28 weekly flights to and from Dubai at peak periods, providing additional connectivity for passengers travelling through its European network.
Other international carriers are also contributing to Dubai’s wider travel links. Aegean Airlines has resumed services between Athens and Dubai, with plans for more frequent flights. Philippine Airlines has returned to Dubai International Airport, adding another connection to Manila alongside services operated by Cebu Pacific.
The developments come as Dubai enters one of its busiest travel periods. Cooler winter weather, school holidays and seasonal tourism traditionally attract visitors from Europe, Asia and other regions to the city, while residents also take advantage of the holiday season to travel abroad.
Emirates has previously reported strong winter bookings on several international routes, reflecting continued demand across markets including India, South Africa, Brazil, Egypt and Nepal.
However, travellers should check directly with airlines before making final arrangements, as schedules and operating dates may change. A planned route announcement does not always mean flights will operate on the originally advertised date.
For Dubai, the winter season remains an important period for tourism and aviation. The gradual adjustment of international schedules could improve travel choices in the coming weeks, provided airlines can maintain their revised plans.
