Erling Haaland’s goal-scoring spree for Manchester City hasn’t deterred Arsenal players, according to midfielder Jorginho, who bolstered the Gunners’ confidence ahead of their Premier League matchup with City on Sunday.
Arsenal has three victories and a tie in the league thus far, while City has had an undefeated record. Haaland, who recently scored nine goals in four league games—including two hat-tricks—has 103 goals overall from 99 appearances for City in all competitions.
The Norwegian is going for his century against Inter Milan on Wednesday in the Champions League. On Thursday, Arsenal kicks off their European campaign at Atalanta, and on Sunday, they get ready to take on City at the Etihad.
The 32-year-old Italian stated, “Erling scoring again… it is starting to make us laugh.” “We look because we adore the Premier League and we watch every game.”
As is customary, we also watch (City). It bypasses our minds. We are attempting to focus on ourselves since it is what we need to do.”
Jorginho commended Arsenal’s mindset, stating that it has evolved from the previous campaign and citing their tenacious 1-0 victory over Tottenham HotSpur in spite of the absence of important players like Declan Rice and captain Martin Odegaard.
“You get to know one another better… everyone wants to get better and do what’s best for the team. “I believe positive things can happen when you prioritize the team’s performance,” he continued.
“Never lose faith in your abilities. We seem to be headed in the right direction.
After winning 1-0 at home and drawing 0-0 away with Champions City in their league encounters, Arsenal finished second in the league the previous season.
