A jet caught fire during a “hard landing” on Saturday at a Las Vegas airport, according to a viral video. The flight belonged to Frontier Airlines.
Reports state that as Frontier Airlines aircraft 1326 touched down at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, plumes of smoke and flames blasted out from the vicinity of the landing gear.
It’s unclear if Frontier Airlines’ pilots realized the fire was serious when they smelt the smoke and quickly called an emergency.
In a matter of seconds, smoke eaters arrived on the scene, shooting streams of foam onto the plane to stop the fire from getting bigger or causing more damage.
According to the airline, none of the passengers or crew were hurt. The airstairs to the gate allowed for everyone’s safe evacuation.
In that statement, they said, “the aircraft landed safely.” Frontier claims to be looking into the cause of the fire.
