In addition to becoming a Paralympic champion, British para-archer Jodie Grinham is seven months pregnant.

The 31-year-old won gold in the mixed team compound final on Monday partner Nathan Macqueen after defeating teammate Phoebe Paterson Pine 155-151 in the women’s individual compound final on Sunday.

Grinham, who is already a mother to her young son Christian, has garnered international media interest.

For the Welsh archer, Paris 2024 has not been easy prior to yesterday’s medal.

Following a near-accident the previous week, she had to check into a hospital in Paris before being allowed to go back and compete.

Following her triumph, Grinham said “I just wanted to cry, scream, and shout, and jump up and down.”
