Zelensky Replaces Ukraine’s Top Army Commander After Days of Nationwide Protests

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has replaced the country’s commander-in-chief, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, following several days of nationwide protests that exposed growing public dissatisfaction with Ukraine’s military leadership. The move marks one of the most significant leadership changes since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi has been appointed as the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces.
