US Renews Strikes on Iran as Middle East Tensions Escalate

The United States launched another wave of airstrikes against Iran, marking the ninth consecutive night of military operations as tensions between the two countries continue to intensify following the deaths of American service members in the region. The latest strikes came as U.S. officials confirmed another American soldier was killed in Iraq during the controlled disposal of a downed Iranian drone, adding to the growing toll among U.S. forces.

According to U.S. Central Command, the latest attacks targeted Iranian military infrastructure, including missile and drone facilities, air defense systems, and coastal assets believed to support operations threatening commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Regional governments have increasingly expressed concern over the impact of the fighting on stability and global energy markets.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported that three people were injured after earthquakes struck near Kuzaran in western Iran. Authorities said there was no immediate indication that the tremors were linked to the ongoing military operations, although emergency teams were dispatched to assess damage and assist affected communities.

The U.S. military also released footage showing aircraft carrying out what it described as the ninth consecutive night of strikes, underscoring Washington’s determination to maintain military pressure. Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks targeting U.S. positions and regional allies, while warning that continued hostilities could further disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
